The Beginning

Sam Mehran, was born in a Persian (Iranian) family, on the 17 August 1985 in Miami Beach Florida. His sister Marsha was 8 years old and had just begun learning piano under a private tutor. When Sam became four years old, he began his first piano lessons, showing his exceptional talent in listening and learning music. At 5 years age, he was exposed, through a friend, to the sound of electric guitar; which marked the end of his learning piano, and the classical music; instead, he began to listen to the rock and roll instead.

Both Marsha and Sam were identified at school as gifted children and were provided with special educational program, which did not last long due to his moving to Australia when he was 7. It was during his years at the high school in Adelaide that Sam with few of his friends organized a group practicing music, mostly at a local church.

Sam left Adelaide in 2002 and went back to the USA, New York, and soon moved to England, where he, Dev Heyns, and Rory Attwell, founded the music band, called Test Icicle. The band last two year performing successfully in Europe, US and Japan. After two years the band was dissolved. Sam went back to New York. He was working in record shop for a while and then began working underground making his own solo music, first as Sam Meringue, then as Sam Mehran, producing music records such as Matrix Metals and Outer Limits Recordings, and much more.
